Kiel Dump Hours: Everything You Need to Know
Are you a resident of Kiel looking to dispose of your unwanted items? The City of Kiel offers a convenient drop-off site for bulky refuse and electronic recycling. To ensure a smooth and efficient experience, it’s crucial to be aware of the dump hours and guidelines.
Drop-Off Site Hours
The Keller Community Drop-off Site is located at 414 8th Street and operates on the following schedule:
- April – October:
- Tuesday & Thursday: 4-7 pm
- Saturday: 8 am – noon
- November:
- Saturday: 8 am – noon
- December – March:
- Closed
Acceptable Items
The Kiel Drop-Off Site accepts a wide range of items, including:
- Furniture
- Appliances
- Bulky items that do not fit in garbage or recycling containers
- Refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners (must have freon/refrigerant removed by a certified technician)
- Latex paint (covers removed and paint hardened)
- Brush and branches (up to 3 ft. long and 4 inches in diameter)
- Grass clippings and leaves (free of branches, sticks, dog waste, and other debris)
Unacceptable Items
Certain items are not accepted at the drop-off site, including:
- Oil-based paint
- Tires
- Construction and remodeling debris
- Vehicle batteries
Fee Schedule
For certain electronics, a fee is required to recycle. The fee can be paid at Kiel City Hall prior to taking the electronic to the drop site. The fee schedule is as follows:
- Computer monitors: $17.00
- Broken computer monitors: $50.00
- Televisions: $25.00
- Projection or big screen TVs: $40.00
- Broken televisions (screen or case): $50.00
- Microwaves: $7.00
- Stereo equipment: $5.00
- Stereo consoles: $10.00
- Printers, scanners, fax machines: $7.00
- Copiers: $12.00
The following items do not require a fee:
- Laptops, keyboards & mice
- Cell phones, telephones
- Ink cartridges & toners
- MP3 players & iPods
- Digital cameras
- System consoles & handhelds (Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft)
- GPS systems
- Camcorders
- Satellite TV receivers
- VCR & DVD players
- Holiday lights
