Are you a Chesterfield resident looking to dispose of unwanted items? Look no further! Chesterfield County offers two convenient locations for public landfill dumping: the Southern Area Convenience Center and the Northern Area Convenience Center.

Convenience Center Locations and Hours:

• Southern Area Convenience Center

  • Hours: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Open: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday
  • Closed: Tuesday and Wednesday
• Northern Area Convenience Center
  • Address: 3200 Warbro Rd., Midlothian, VA 23112
  • Hours: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Open: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday
  • Closed: Wednesday and Thursday

Accepted Items and Fees:

The convenience centers accept a wide range of items, including:

• Residential Trash and Vegetative Debris:
  • Pick-up truck load: $7
  • Pick-up truck load with trailer: $14
  • Pick-up truck load with trailer longer than 10 feet: $21
• Construction and Demolition Debris:
  • Pick-up truck load: $15
  • Pick-up truck load with trailer: $30
• Appliances:
  • Freon appliances: $15 per item
  • Non-Freon appliances: $10 per item
• Tires:
  • Off-rim tire: $2 each
  • On-rim tire: $5 each
• Mattresses:
  • $7 per mattress (annual limit of three mattresses)
• Televisions and Electronics:
  • $7 per item

Items Not Accepted:

The convenience centers do not accept the following items:

• Ammunition
• Asbestos
• Automobiles and boats
• Bamboo
• Commercial construction and demolition debris
• Dirt
• Explosive items
• Fire extinguishers
• Flares
• Lead
• Medical waste
• Oil-based paint (accepted at special events only)
• Oversized tires
• Propane tanks larger than 30 pounds
• Stumps
• Tanks
• Timber (greater than 16 inches in diameter or 8 feet long)

Payment Methods:

The convenience centers accept the following payment methods:

• Credit cards (Mastercard, Visa, Discover)
• Debit cards
• Cash (bills in the value range of $1-$50)

Additional Information:

• Proof of Residency: Chesterfield residents must provide proof of residency (e.g., utility bill) to use the convenience centers.
• Large Vehicles: Trucks larger than a standard pickup truck will be charged accordingly.
• Mulch Availability: The Southern Area Convenience Center offers free mulch for Chesterfield residents. Call 748-1297 for availability.
• Holiday Closures: The convenience centers are closed on New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
