The City of Poughkeepsie has two transfer stations:
- The City of Poughkeepsie Transfer Station is located at 26 Howard Street. It is open to City of Poughkeepsie residents only. The hours of operation are:

- Saturday: 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM

- The Town of Poughkeepsie Transfer Station is located at 8 Burnett Boulevard. It is open to Town of Poughkeepsie residents only. The hours of operation are:
- Monday-Tuesday: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
