NTMWD Solid Waste Facilities
NTMWD operates three transfer stations and one landfill that are open to the public for waste disposal. These facilities are located in the following cities:

Hours of Operation
The transfer stations are open to the public from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The landfill is open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
Acceptable Waste
The NTMWD solid waste facilities accept a wide range of household waste, including:
- Residential waste up to 8 ft. in any dimension
- Mattresses
- Furniture
- Packing material
- Food waste
- Lawn furniture
- Grills (no propane tanks, full or empty)
- Lawn mowers (with gasoline and oil removed)
- Bicycles
- Used oil (max 5 gallons per visit)
- Used oil filters
- Whole passenger vehicle tires (max 4 per visit)
- Brush and untreated/unpainted wood
Fees
The NTMWD solid waste facilities charge a fee for waste disposal. The fees are as follows:
- Transfer stations: $65 per ton, one ton minimum charge (plus sales tax)
- Landfill: $48 per ton, one ton minimum charge (plus sales tax)
Additional Charges
There are additional charges for certain types of waste, including:
- Roofing shingles: $150 surcharge per load
- Tires: $5 per tire up to 24.5 inch diameter
Proof of Residency
To use the NTMWD solid waste facilities, you must be a resident of Allen, Frisco, McKinney, Plano, or Richardson and have a current city-issued utility bill that reflects solid waste services.
