Rules and Regulations

  • All materials must be deposited directly into the designated container or solid waste area.
  • Maximum one (1) residential load (rubbish or construction & demolition material) per day.
  • Vehicle types utilizing the Transfer Stations are limited to sedans, SUVs, pickup trucks, or vans.
  • Dump bed trucks are prohibited.
  • Scavenging is not permitted.
  • Trespassing and Loitering within the Transfer Station is prohibited.
  • The County expects recycling of greenwaste whenever possible.
  • Scrap Metal, including white goods/appliances (refrigerators, stoves, etc.), shall be recycled at the designated area at specific Recycling & Transfer Stations.

Additional Information

  • The County of Hawaii does not provide curbside business or household rubbish or recyclables collection services.
  • Most of the locations do not have designated phone numbers.
  • The County of Hawaii is closed on New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
