Landfill/Transfer Station Hours

The Essex Landfill/Transfer Station is open to the public during the following hours:

• Monday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Thursday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Saturday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Please note that the landfill/transfer station is closed on Sundays, Wednesdays, and major holidays.

Fees

Residents of Essex can dispose of household garbage/trash at the transfer station by purchasing either a permit (sticker) or a pre-paid punch card. Permits are valid from January 1st through December 31st of the following year and cost:

• $150.00 for residents
• $100.00 for senior residents (65 & over)

Punch cards (allows the disposal of 10 bags) cost $30.00 for all residents.

Punch cards are available at the Transfer Station via check, debit, or credit card only. NO CASH ACCEPTED.

Permits & punch cards can also be purchased through the Town Clerk’s office at Essex Town Hall via cash or check.
