Accepted and Unaccepted Yard Debris

The Kettering Yard Debris Center accepts the following types of yard debris:

  • Brush, limbs, and trimmings (not larger than 6 feet in length or 4 inches in diameter)
  • Leaves
  • Grass clippings

The Yard Debris Center does not accept the following items:

  • Root balls
  • Stumps
  • Thatch
  • Sod
  • Dirt
  • Rocks
  • Concrete
  • Building and construction materials

Fees and Residency Requirements

There is no fee to dispose of yard debris at the Kettering Yard Debris Center. However, proof of Kettering residency or taxpayer status is required.

Additional Information

  • Trimmings transported in bags or containers must be emptied upon drop-off, and the bags or containers must be removed from the Yard Debris Center.
  • The city does not provide yard debris pickup services.
  • Yard debris is used as part of the city’s free mulch/compost program.
