Leduc & District Regional Waste Management Facility

The Leduc & District Regional Waste Management Facility is the primary garbage dump serving Leduc County residents. It is located at 49444 Range Road 244, Leduc County, and is open to the public during the following hours:

  • Monday – Saturday: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • Closed on Sundays

Seasonal Hours:

  • May 1 – September 15: Open until 9:00 pm on Wednesdays

Holiday Hours:

  • Open on all Statutory Holidays except Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day

What to Bring to the Dump

The Leduc & District Regional Waste Management Facility accepts a wide range of household waste, including:

  • Household garbage
  • Compost
  • Yard waste
  • Recycling (blue bags)

Additional Items Accepted at Specific Transfer Stations:

  • New Sarepta Transfer Station: Household materials (oil, antifreeze, paint), electronics, batteries, white metals, other metals, construction and demolition waste, tires, clean non-toxic wood material, miscellaneous materials (furniture)
  • Sunnybrook Transfer Station: Same as New Sarepta Transfer Station

Fees and Restrictions

The facility has a number of fees for various items, which are GST exempt. Please reference the fee schedule for the current list of fees.

Restricted and Prohibited Waste:

  • Animal waste and carcasses
  • Domestic and chemical waste

Public Drop-Off Area

The Leduc & District Regional Waste Management Facility has opened a public drop-off area to provide safer vehicle access and reduced wait times for residents. This area is designed for smaller vehicles and allows for easier disposal of household waste and recycling.

Goodwill Donation Pilot Program

The Facility has partnered with Goodwill Industries of Alberta for a one-year pilot that has replaced the former Take-it-or-Leave-it program. This program allows residents to donate gently used items, such as clothing, furniture, and household goods, directly to Goodwill.
