The Saratoga Springs Transfer Station is located at 41 Weibel Avenue and is open to the public from Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00 am to 3:45 pm.

The Saratoga Springs Transfer Station primarily consists of a waste drop-off area where bagged and other non-recycled waste is deposited into a large stationary trash compactor.

Who Can Use the Transfer Station?

Anyone can participate in the use of the transfer station and recycling center. Bags can be purchased for $4 each at the Transfer Station, the Department of Public Works at 5 Lake Avenue, or at the Weibel Ave Saratoga Springs Stewart’s Shop.

What Can I Bring to the Transfer Station?

What is Single Stream Recycling?

Single stream recycling is a process where all recyclable materials are placed in one container, eliminating the need for sorting. The Transfer Station accepts the following Single Stream Recyclables:

  • #’s 1-7 Plastics (no lids, no #7 PLA compostables)
  • Cans
  • Clean, Balled Aluminum Foil (2” or larger) & Pie Pans
  • Corrugated Cardboard & Paper Bags
  • File Folders
  • Empty Aerosol Cans (no caps)
  • Empty Pizza Boxes (no food)
  • Glass Bottles & Jars
  • Loose Metal Jar Lids & Steel Bottle Caps
  • Magazines, Brochures & Catalogs
  • Newspapers & Inserts (No Plastic Bags)
  • Opened Mail, Junk Mail, and Greeting Cards
  • Paperback Books
  • Paperboard Boxes (cereal, cracker, other boxes)
  • Paper Egg Cartons
  • Paper Milk/Juice Cartons (No Foil Pouches)
  • Phone Books
  • Rigid Plastics
  • Shredded Paper (must be in clear plastic bags)
  • White or Pastel Office Paper
