Albuquerque City Dump Locations and Hours

The City of Albuquerque operates three convenience centers where residents and small commercial haulers can drop off trash. The locations and hours of operation are as follows:

  • Eagle Rock Convenience Center
    6301 Eagle Rock NE
    Open 7 days a week, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Don Reservoir Convenience Center
    117 114th SW
    Open 7 days a week, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Montessa Park Convenience Center
    3512 Los Picaros SE
    Open 5 days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday), 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Fees

The cost to dispose of trash at an Albuquerque city dump is $5.25 per load (including tax). A load is defined as 4x8x2 feet. If your load is larger than this, you will be charged an additional fee.

What You Can and Cannot Dispose Of

You can dispose of the following items at Albuquerque city dumps:

  • Trash
  • Yard waste
  • Large items (appliances, furniture, etc.)

You cannot dispose of the following items at Albuquerque city dumps:

  • Hazardous waste
  • Medical waste
  • Infectious waste
  • Dead animals
  • Ammunition
  • Firearms
  • Hot waste or smoldering waste (coals, wood, or ashes)
  • Construction or demolition debris (this includes drywall)
  • Roofing materials
  • Waste containing free liquids
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Compressed gas cylinders

Additional Information

  • All convenience centers are closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.
  • Vehicles arriving after 4:30 p.m. will not be admitted.
  • Tarp and secure your vehicle’s load to avoid a clean-up fee of $5.82 (including tax).
  • The City reserves the right to refuse any load or items that might cause injury to personnel or damage to equipment.
